Deepa Trybz – is the combination of Vuyo Tyolo (“Tylo”) – one of the freshest and powerful voices to emerge out of these shores. Born and raised in East London with a music passion which started as early as when he was still at primary school performing for his school mates. He made his mark in Johannesburg when he performed as a back up musician working with artists such as Tuks, Zuluboy, Siphokazi, Camagwini and Somizi.
He then released his Debut Album with a SAMA award winning producer “Malambule” in September 2010. From then he became interested in the production of music and spent his time in a recording studio where he worked closely with his now partner in music Mpho Hlahla (“Pat4”) – A sound engineer turned producer turned Dj. Born and raised in Attridgeville, Pretoria and started his career in music as a radio Dj in Soshanguve community radio station. He moved to Johannesburg to form a group called “Suspect” with professor of Kalawa Jazmeer. In the pursuit of creating his own sound, Mpho Hlahla taught himself sound engineering and lately became a well known sound engineer working on Mandoza’s debut album, HHP’s debut album and than moved to become a household engineer turned producer for Native Rhythms Productions
Deepa Trybz – an outfit that creates intoxicating soulful beats in studio and also enhance each others strengths as performers on stage – the ideal recipe for an interactive live experience.
The combination of engineer-cum-producer meets voice-cum-keyboardist is the apex of this project and no doubt it already is creating rashes on the dance before it’s released.
THE ALBUM: Deepa Trybz
Since the release of their debut album self titled Deepa trybz (13 August 2012) and following the success of their first single ‘Deepa Trybz Remix’ since its debut on Metro Fm’s breakfast show, the album has been building up to the second single ‘Carry You’ and music video which is currently impacting at radio, Channel O and MTV Base TV music channels. The single is currently enjoying airtime on the most popular dance show in the country on Metro Fm’s ‘I Believe’ hosted by Oskido, and was recently endorsed by Anane Martins-Vega CEO of Nulu Music.
Deepa Trybz is defying the Norms of Deep House Music. It is defined by Vuyo ‘Tylo’ Tyolo’s unmistakable vocals and Pat4’s production style. ‘Tylo’ is a self-taught multi-instrumentalist who plays all instruments on the album.
It is this very combination of engineer/producer, meets, vocalist/keyboardist, that is the apex of this project – differentiating them as the deep-soulful-house band that ultimately need to be experienced on a dance floor near you…
